Ohev Dance Ministries

Ohev is committed to Davidic and Israeli style dance and expression.   Ohev believes in spending the time necessary to praise and worship the Lord, which can occur in many ways -- one beautiful way is through the dance.

Praise the Lord in dance with us!

Scripturally, the use of dance expresses love, joy, praise, celebration, and honor toward God. By playing an important role in the overall praise and worship of the congregation; the dance also contributes to bringing the spirit of God for comfort, spiritual warfare, moving of the Holy Spirit, etc.

The dance ministry is an essential part of Sabbath services, Feast celebrations, special events, etc. Consequently, Ohev is committed to providing the resources, environment, training, and encouragement necessary to ensure this ministry is of the highest quality possible.

The Ohev Dance Team Ministry has a four-fold purpose:

The scriptures speak of organized times of dance in praise and celebration to the Lord, e.g. Miriam leading the women in dance (Exodus 15:20), the celebration upon David’s victory over Goliath (1 Samuel 18:6), David dancing before the Lord with all his might (2 Samuel 6:14), etc.  In fact, Ecclesiastes 3:4 speaks of "a time to dance". Psalm 149:2-3 states; "Let Israel rejoice in him that made him; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.  Let them praise his name in the dance..." In the New Testament gospel of Luke 15:25, the older brother of the prodigal son comes home "and hears music and dancing" in celebration of the return of the one who had been lost. Consequently, we see that God has proclaimed the dance as a means of praising, worshipping, and celebrating his wonderful works.
